We are fully committed to providing our students with numerous opportunities, support and resources to develop them as readers. We all know that reading is a crucial part of learning. It is also highly enjoyable!
Star Assessments: children take 3 assessments each year. These provide us with data on a pupil’s reading level and progress.
Accelerated Reader: children choose a levelled reading book from our fully stocked library. Children are heard to read in school and we encourage them to take their books home. We appreciate your support in hearing your children read daily, for a minimum of 10 mins. Please sign children’s reading records daily. Once the book is completed, children take a short quiz to assess their comprehension and provides them with instant feedback on their progress.
